Teachers’ salaries

Published September 5, 2015

THIS is apropos M. Siddiqui’s letter (Aug3). I agree with him and would like to add that the condition in Sindh’s interior is worse than that. Here a schoolteacher’s pay is even less than Rs 10,000 in private schools. This situation is even worse specially for women teachers. School administrations think women teachers do not have much room to manoeuvre. Hence the low salary.

I appeal to the higher authorities to ensure that the pay structure should be followed according to the prescribed orders of the government.
