LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, declared on Friday the results of entrance test 2015 for admission to medical and dental colleges of Punjab.
A total of 46,885 candidates appeared in the entrance test held on Aug 30 and out of which 19,283 scored 60 per cent and above marks.
As many as 6,891 scored 50 to 59pc whereas 6,490 candidates secured 40 to 49pc marks. A total of 14,221 candidates scored less than 40pc marks.
According to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s regulations, the pass/fail criteria have been abolished for the entrance test of medical colleges.
Noor-us-Sabah Ahmad of Lahore got the first position by securing 1,076/1100 marks whereas Muhammad Hassan Naveed of Lahore and Samabia Javed of Faisalabad bagged second and third positions by obtaining 1065/1100 and 1059/1100 marks, respectively.
The eligible candidates will compete for 3,405 MBBS and 216 BDS seats in 20 public sector medical and dental colleges, respectively.
The admission forms for government medical and dental colleges will be available from Oct 1 to Oct 10.
All those candidates who have secured 82pc and above aggregate marks, according to the PMDC formula, will be eligible to apply for admission on the basis of open merit.
The first selection list will be displayed on Oct 30 whereas classes in all public sector medical colleges of Punjab will commence on Nov 16.
