LAHORE: The chief minister has approved a summary regarding regularisation of the services of 2,200 lecturers employed on contract three years ago.

The Punjab Higher Education Department will issue a notification in this week, an official said on Tuesday. The department had moved a summary to the chief minister to regularise the services of some 1,200 female and 1,000 male lecturers hired in 2012, said the official.

The Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association thanked the chief minister for accepting their longstanding demand.
