SUKKUR: Lawyers boycotted court proceedings here on Monday to record their protest against the killing of their colleague Ameer Haider in Karachi and non-arrest of the killers.

On a call of the Sindh Bar Council, the lawyers of Sukkur boycotted proceedings of the Sindh High Court bench at Sukkur, District and Sessions Court Sukkur and its subordinate courts.

A protest demonstration was held in front of the office of the District Bar Sukkur, led by Qurban Malano, Abdul Baqi Kakar, Sikandar Junejo, Zulfiqar Sangi, Shafqat Raheem, Qurban Kalwar, Bhajan Das Tejwani and Ubedullah Malano.

Addressing the protesters, they said Ameer Haider was targeted without any justification while failure of police and Rangers to arrest his killers had disappointed the lawyers community.

They demanded immediate arrest of the killers and complete safety and security to lawyers.
