SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif has said Pakistan will take the issue of violations of the Line of Control and Working Boundary by India to the United Nations and other international forums.

Addressing a gathering of people affected by Indian shelling of villages in the Sucheetgarh sector on Sunday, he said Pakistan had ample proof of India’s direct and indirect involvement in terrorism and militancy in the country and it had decided in principle to present the evidences to the UN.

“We will expose the actual face of India,” he added.

The minister said Pakistan would respond with full force if India continued to attack civilian population along the Working Boundary.

“We will take good care of the Indians if a war was imposed on us,” he warned.

Pakistan, he said, had every right to retaliate with full force.

He said despite the fact that New Delhi was sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan it intended to maintain durable peace.

Khawaja Asif said Pakistan was well aware of the situation and was committed to weeding out terrorism from the country. He praised the armed forces for its achievements in the fight to uproot militancy, insurgency and terrorism. The Zarb-i-Azb Operation was achieving its objectives, he added.

He said the PML-N government was committed to eradicating terrorism. The whole nation stood united against terrorism and was ready to render sacrifices along with the armed forces to defend the motherland, he said.

The minister said Pakistan had always played a leading role in the fight against terrorism and militancy and rendered sacrifices for durable global peace.

He distributed on behalf of the Punjab government compensation cheques for Rs500,000 to heirs of each of the eight people killed by Indian shelling.
