TAXILA: A man drowned in Khanpur dam when he went into deep water while bathing to cool himself from hot and humid weather on Sunday.

Dam authorities said Aabid Ansari, a trader by profession, came along with his other friends from Rawalpindi. Later, divers fished out his body.

The dam authorities have already imposed a ban on bathing and swimming in and around dam as water in the lake has reached to highest level.

On Sunday, spillways of the dam were opened to flush extra water.
