Heavy schoolbags

Published August 9, 2015

CHILDREN are forced to carry heavy schoolbags, which is one of the major issues for school-going children. Both parents and teachers are responsible for this.

Teachers do not make timetables and, thus force children to bring all the books and notebooks, while parents do not bother to check the weight of their children’s schoolbags.

According to WHO, the weight of a schoolbag must not be greater than 10pc of the bodyweight of a student. But the schoolbags are getting heavier day by day.

Owing to this, children often suffer from back and feet pain. Carrying heavy bags is dangerous for children. Therefore, it is essential to ban heavy schoolbags. Students should be asked to bring only the books and other materials which are required for the day.
