LAHORE: Alarmed over the reported presence of dengue larvae at some places in the province, Chief Secretary Khizar Hayyat Gondal on Friday ordered the anti-dengue campaign be stepped up.

Presiding over a meeting to review measure being taken to control dengue, he directed all district coordination officers to ensure geo-tagging of hot spots in their districts and send data to the Punjab Information Technology Board.

He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and lauded the performance of departments regarding dengue control.

He said all departments should continue working with the same spirit to eradicate dengue.

He, however, directed them to remain alert during monsoon and said no negligence would be tolerated.

The chief secretary said all resources would be utilised for making the anti-dengue campaign a success, adding any problem would be addressed on priority basis.

He further said federal and provincial departments should enhance cooperation and make coordinated efforts for dengue eradication.

Representatives of federal departments present at the meeting assured the chief secretary of their full cooperation during the campaign.
