KARACHI: Two ministers in Sindh cabinet — Sharjeel Inam Memon and Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani — whose portfolios were changed last week during reshuffling of portfolios of five ministers, on Friday left for London where they would call on Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Dawn has learnt.
The purpose of their rushing to London, sources said, was to sort out the issues popped up after Mr Bijarani, whose portfolio was changed from the works and services department to the education department, refused to take the charge of his new portfolio in presence of present secretary of education Dr Fazlullah Pechuho.
Dr Pechuho, who is considered a powerful bureaucrat in the Sindh establishment due to his close relationship with the party high command, being brother-in-law of co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, during last two years had been in news when Nisar Khuhro as senior minister was holding this portfolio.
