KHAR: The political administration has announced to launch a welfare scheme from next month for the families of Levies force personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty in Bajaur Agency.
“We are introducing a scheme for the families of Levies personnel who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. Under the scheme, different benefits, including free education and health facilities, would be offered to them,” said political agent Mohammad Yahya Akhunzada while speaking at a function held in honour of the family members of the personnel here on Thursday.
The political agent, who also holds the charge of commandant of Bajaur Levies, said that the administration was committed to providing basic needs to the family members of Levies personnel killed by militant in the agency.
He said that the administration knew about the problems and needs of the families of the personnel, who laid down their lives for the sake of peace and prosperity of their motherland.
Referring to the professional capability of the force in the region, he said that a plan had been made to provide modern weapons, training and basic facilities to the Levies force as it was the sole source of the administration to maintain peace in the agency.
The political agent praised the efforts of Levies force in the fight against terrorism and restoration of peace in the region.
