As water level rose in the Chenab, adjoining canals and seem nullahs also started rising.

A 20ft wide breach occurred in the Chiniot-Jhang Road seem nullah that inundated crops on several acres in adjoining areas. However, the district administration, irrigation department and farmers filled the breach soon after.

Bhai Khan was often suspicious about his wife Fauzia Bibi’s character and usually had arguments over it.

City police registered a case under sections 376, 511, 337-V against Khan.

District Police Officer Abdul Qadir Qamar said a police committee, headed by the City station house officer, had been constituted to arrest the culprits who were at large.
