KARACHI: The district municipal corporations (DMCs) will perform cleaning of all drains located in their respective jurisdictions whereas the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will carry out monitoring and provide necessary machinery, vehicles and manpower for the purpose. This was decided in a meeting chaired by commissioner/ administrator of the KMC Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, said a statement on Wednesday.
A grade-17 officer of the KMC will be deputed with staff and required machinery on each storm-water drain and the drain cleaning process will continue throughout the year.
The Civil Aviation Authority will drain out rainwater through Moria Khan nullah instead of dewatering it on Sharea Faisal.
