MODEL Ayyan Ali has been granted bail by the Lahore High Court in the money laundering case. The court has observed that the charges by the prosecution have not been established.
It means the investigation has been faulty to produce a weak case which can be thrown out by the court. There are reports of pressure on the Customs authorities. As rightly pointed out in your editorial ‘Bail for Ayyan Ali’ (July 15), the big fish always manage to go scot-free.

this shows how corrupt mafia is strong so enough to suppress govt agencies bein run at poor helpless public tax under constitution which is just paper

Pakistan law have two face , one for high ups (always get relief) other for poor (always convicted). Unfortunate is that the inspector who caught Ayyan has been murdered. In future in Pak police,agencies will never caught any body due to killing fear, will make MUK-MUKA and get their life and money.

Ayyan Ali was granted bail due to the failure of the prosecution to complete the challan. Whether it is some political pressure or the incompetence of the custom's authorities it can not be ascertained. There is no need to speculate.
Let the prosecution present the case before the court, and the court to decide.
