NOWSHERA: The labour leaders have alleged the secretary of the Workers Welfare Board has appointed hundreds of his blue-eyed people illegally despite the KP government ban on fresh appointments.
They made the disclosure while addressing a workers gathering at Labour Colony, Hakeem Abad here on Monday.
Muttahida Labour Federation’s provincial chairman Ajmali Khan, president Mohammad Iqbal and vice president Wali Mohammad spoke on the occasion.
They said the workers’ board secretary had hired services of ten lawyers on the board’s expense which was injustice with the employees. They alleged employees’ interests were ignored as the workers welfare board was being used for the interests of its secretary.
“The workers have been crying for dowry and death allowances for the last two years but the government is yet to process their pending cases,” a labour leader lamented.
The workers leaders said scholarships had also not been provided to employees’ children.
Announcing their protest plan against the board management, they said first protest meeting would be held on July 30 at Shobra Chowk, Nowshera, followed by similar gatherings on Aug 2 in Mingora, Aug 4 in Thakht Bhai, Aug 7 at Mardan and Aug 11 in Charsadda. They said protest gathering in Peshawar would be held on Aug 14 in front of the press club.
They appealed to Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, PTI chief Imran Khan and chairman welfare board to take notice of illegal appointments in board.
ANP GATHERING: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has vowed that ANP would not allow anyone to usurp rights of Pakhtun, and asked the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf to stop ‘mocking’ with people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“First PTI expelled ministers of Qaumi Watan Party from cabinet on charges of corruption and now once again it is trying to bring them back into power,” he said while addressing a public meeting in Todair union council here late Sunday night.
Members of ANP’s district council, including Ijaz Khan, Hayat Ali and Malik Juma Khan were also present.
He said no one could dare construct the controversial Kalabagh Dam. He said Imran Khan should seriously rethink his attitude about parliament and democracy. He said judicial commission report had opened eyes of PTI leadership.
The ANP leader alleged PTI government had engineered a plan to rig the re-polling in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to get desired results. He claimed ANP candidates would win the re-polls as the voters had rejected the hollow claims of PTI.
