Bollywood's golden couple, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, are set to make their return as a couple on the silver screen.

In R. Balki's untitled next film, the Bachchans will star as themselves in a cameo appearance set in their own home, reported Mumbai Mirror.

But this cameo won't be a blink-and-miss appearance. According to a source, the Bachchans' scene will be one of the best in the film: "It's just a two-day shoot but this cameo is not just significant to the plot but also undoubtedly one of the film's greatest highlights." The hype is justified, especially since the seniors Bachchans were last seen together in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushie Kabhi Gham (2001).

R. Balki's rom-com also stars Arjun Kapoor as a stay-at-home husband and Kareena Kapoor-Khan as his corporate wife.

In the film, "the Bachchans will not play Arjun or Kareena's parents. Nor are they their mentors or advisors. Amitji and Jayaji are playing themselves in the film, a superstar couple. And they will be filmed in their own Juhu home, Jalsa," the source added.

The film is said to begin production next year.
