THIS refers to the problem the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualified people are facing these days in Pakistan. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) gives equivalence to an ACCA qualified person with MCom
There is no problem, but it seems by choosing this qualification we committed a sin. Firstly, the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan (ICAP) imposed some restrictions to get articles or internship in audit firms. Now the HEC requires three years of experience to get equivalency. It is required for MCom qualified persons.
ACCA is a certified chartered accountant, which means they can work as a chartered accountant. But the HEC considers it equal to MCom.
I am a CSS aspirant but I cannot take admission based on ACCA because I do not have three years experience. I appeal to the authorities concerned to remove the condition of experience so that we can survive.
