Five years ago, the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, which stands 98th in animal sciences in the world, initiated an outreach programme for the rural area and on the quota of urban area students.
It was an intermediate programme featured as FSc Pre Agriculture, promising to lead in future to various fields like dentistry, animal sciences, agricultural sciences.
But the PMDC has not accredited the degrees of DVM for students who were previously inducted in the programme of Fsc Pre Agriculture, which is a matter of disappointment for the students who put in their best.
Either a university like UAF must take into account this issue or the PMDC must negotiate with UAF authorities who initiated the programme.
I would like to point out that in the FSc pre-agri programme, students study both mathematics and biology as majors while in the board of intermediate and secondary education FSc programme, a student can only opt for one of these subjects.
