RECENTLY former President Asif Ali Zardari threatened to expose some generals if the Rangers did not stop the ‘character assassination’ of his workers. I would not like to debate whether the press and media distorted his statement, but the fact that Zardari threatened to expose corrupt generals is a welcome gesture.

The question on everyone’s lips is: why now? This is a million-dollar question that Zardari needs to answer. I challenge him to expose those corrupt generals he threatens to expose and let the courts substantiate his threat.

If they are proved corrupt, let them face the music but, if not, then Mr Zardari has a lot to answer for. I am reminded of Jesus Christ’s famous saying: “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.”
