ALTAF Hussain has spoken on the need to construct Kalabagh dam to rid the country of the critical shortages of water and electricity. This is by far the strongest voice raised in favour of the dam.

If Mr Altaf and his party succeed in developing consensus leading to the construction of the dam, they would do a great service to Pakistan. It is now incumbent upon the federal and provincial governments to join hands to remove all obstacles in the realisation of this project.
