SIALKOT: Several houses were damaged when Indian Border Security Force (BSF) started unprovoked heavy shelling on Pakistani villages in the Charwah sector along the Sialkot Working Boundary on Sunday.
According to senior officials of the Chenab Rangers, the Indian troops started shelling at 6.30pm which continued until 8pm.
They said it was obvious that the Indians had targeted the civilian population because the shelling damaged houses and cattle-sheds belonging to local people.
Heavy mortar shells were also fired by the Indians.
Some of the shells landed in fields but did not explode. No injury or loss of life was reported.
The Chenab Rangers retaliated with full force, said the officials.
