Interpol contacted to arrest ‘murderer’ of ex-MPA

GUJRANWALA: Police have contacted Interpol in Dubai regarding the arrest of a suspect nominated in the murder of former PML-N MPA Rana Shamshad Ahmad and his son Shahbaz.

Speaking at a briefing, City Police Officer Waqas Nazir claimed PPP leader Rafiq Virk, his brothers Sarfraz Ahmad, Shahbaz Ahmad and their father Faqir Muhammad were nominated in the first information report (FIR), while they had fled from the country.

Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have arrested an accused mentioned in its red book during a raid and seized several passports and documents from his possession.

FIA Deputy Director Malik Sikandar said suspect Zafar Iqbal had been arrested from Gujrat. He said Iqbal had sent many people to Greece illegally and was wanted in several cases of human smuggling.
