RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashood on Tuesday said four cricket stadiums had been constructed in educational institutions of the garrison city at a cost of Rs1.20 billion.

The stadiums have been constructed at the Government Muslim High School, Satellite Town; Government Postgraduate College for boys, 6th Road; Government Jamia High School, Dhoke Kashmirian, and Government Waqarun Nisa College for Girls.

The minister said the government would also add gymnasiums to these stadiums. “Work on the sports stadiums and grounds in other institutions are on progress in order to provide extra-circular activities to the students,” he said.

He was speaking at a meeting held at the commissioner office to review the work on missing facilities in the educational institutions. Former MNA Hanif Abbasi, City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) and Parks and Horticulture Authority officials were also present. Mr Hanif Abbasi said after the metro bus service, the PML-N government was working to improve the condition of educational institutions so that the youth would get better facilities.
