APROPOS ‘Weather change: a conspiracy?’ by Pervez Hoodbhoy (June 27). An excellent article indeed detailing that a price has to be paid if humans mess with Mother Nature and the environment.

Coming to weather disturbances, every geophysicist will tell you that adverse weather is the direct reaction of the years of modern human living practices which have upset the fragile eco-system. Mankind living on this planet has to face the music if they continue to alter the ecosystem arbitrarily.

This is why natural science students are trained to offer their expertise for the exploitation of natural resources by having a minimum effect on the ecosystem. If expert opinion is not followed upon, it has a strong reaction causing havoc to the human race.
