KHAIRPUR: Poets, writers and radio, television and stage drama artists belonging to Khairpur have expressed concern that the Sachal Yadgar Committee does not consider their category for Sachal Awards distributed every year at the annual Urs of renowned poet and saint Sachal Sarmast.
Presiding over a meeting held here on Monday, artist Akhtar Khokhar said neither the committee gave them any importance nor the Khairpur administration showed any respect towards them.
Senior actor Zulfiqar Burdi said that following nepotism, a new category ‘worker award’ had been introduced.
Poet and writer Dr Aijaz Samo showed concern over such attitude of the Sachal Yadgar Committee.
They demanded that a category for drama artists be introduced. The meeting was attended by a large number of artists, poets and others — all belonging to Khairpur district.
