ISLAMABAD: United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Antonio Guterres called on Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz here at the Foreign Office on Monday.

Mr Guterres is on a 3-day `Ramazan Solidarity’ visit to Pakistan from June 22 to 24.

During the meeting, issues relating to Afghan refugees in Pakistan and their voluntary repatriation were discussed.

Mr Guterres acknowledged the efforts made by Pakistan for hosting the world’s largest refugee population for more than three decades.

Mr Aziz appreciated the UNHCR’s continuous engagement with Pakistan over the return of Afghan refugees.

He underscored the importance of creating pull factors inside Afghanistan and suggested that the UNHCR, supported by the International community, should assist the Afghan government in creating pull factors which would be helpful in the reintegration of Afghans returning from Pakistan.
