Rangers brief corps commander over Karachi operation

KARACHI: Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar on Thursday paid a visit to the Pakistan Rangers Headquarters, where Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar briefed him about the ongoing targeted operation in the city, said a press release issued by Sindh Rangers.
Lt Gen Mukhtar attended a detailed briefing about the law and order situation and other professional matters, the press release said.
The corps commander was also apprised about the security arrangements made for Ramazan, which begin Friday (tomorrow).
Lt Gen Mukhtar appreciated the efforts of Rangers to establish peace in Sindh and expressed his resolution to keep up action against corruption, the press release said.
Lt Gen Mukhtar also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha for slain Rangers personnel.

The fact is that the entire development funds allocated ,if any,for Karachi in the last seven years have been pick pocketed by the corrupt mafia or rather for entire Sindh and a complete audit must be done and recovered from the goons.Now it is the duty of honest and sincere sons of Pakistan to take action against the corrupt mafia ,whoever are they as terrorism is an off shoot of corruption.

I am a firm believer in democracy, but that being said the way democratic (read so called) parties are resisting against corruption and now openly blackmailing the whole system is absolutely despicable. It makes me wonder if democracy is even meant for us?
I know that our generals are no angels, but the current leadership seems honest though. But if General Raheel sets an example now by apprehending a few corrupt army men, it would go a long, long way in enhancing his reputation and would put him on a very high moral ground as well.

Regardless of party affiliation all corrupt people should be weeded out and given stern punishment. People must support Rangers and the Military for their action against such people. PPP and other political parties who talk about democracy must understand that democracy can only deliver in fair and honest society.

Dear Army Chief Raheel Shareef,
You are doing a great job. No innocent should be punished and guilty should not go unpunished.
Please extend this operation to Punjab Secretariat as well. As per NFC award, most of our budget goes to Punjab rightly on basis of majority population. Please check how recruitments were done in Punjab departments since 2008 and on whose recommendations? Please check how funds are allocated in Punjab.
Otherwise, doing corruption will remain " halal " as long as you are in Punjab.

@Cosmocitizen Wishful thinking, well said though. Unfortunately, sad fact is majority of Pakistanis believe it is ok to pay and receive bribes; just read the comments on "Zimbabwe cricket" published in Dawn, majority of the comments were for bribes justifying it to revive cricket in Pakistan. Corruption problem is not akin to Pakistan; corruption is rampant all over the world it is the level of corruption seen in Pakistan and some other countries.
