SIALKOT: The joint investigation team (JIT) continued on Friday investigation of the killing of two lawyers in Daska during a clash on May 25.

The JIT examined the spot and recorded statements of 12 lawyers, police officials and representatives of civil society organisations.

Police inspector Shahzad Warraich, who was then Daska city SHO, is accused of shooting to death lawyers Rana Khalid Abbas and Irfan Chohan.

Also, hundreds of PPP activists with lawyers took out a torch-bearing procession in the city on Friday night in memory of the deceased lawyers. PPP Daska President Raheel Kamran Cheema led the procession which began from Lorry Adda and ended at the city police station.

The participants also lit candles at the spot where the lawyers were shot dead.
