RAWALPINDI: Traders blocked Peshawar Road on Wednesday for traffic to protest the killing of a shopkeeper in a robbery.

Rizwan Ahmed, who owned a cell phone shop in Misryal area, was gunned down by three robbers when he refused to give up cash to them.

The robbers also snatched Rs 50,000 and eight cell phones from Hassan medical store after holding its owner Khawaja Amir Malik and a customer at gunpoint.

Angered by the killing traders gathered on Peshawar Road and staged a protest against the deteriorating law and order situation, leaving the vehicular traffic stranded. After the senior police officers assured the protesters to arrest the culprits soon, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
