Guard shot dead

SHEIKHUPURA: A man working as a security guard in a factory near Kala Shah Kaku on GT Road was gunned down by unidentified persons on Tuesday.

Tariq Abbas was at work at the factory when armed suspects scaled down the wall and tried to unlock a store. Abbas resisted their move at which the suspects opened fire, killing the guard on the spot.

The suspects managed to escape after the incident.

A 24-year-old man died after drowning in the BRB Canal near Kala Khatai.

Mehmood Saghir jumped into the canal for a bath but entered its deep side and drowned. His body could not be found until the filing of this report.
