LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said there is no justification to take law into hands and damage public and private properties.
“The elements damaging public property are not doing any service to the country. The maintenance of law and order and protection of life and property of the citizens is the responsibility of the state which will be fulfilled at any cost,” he said.
At a meeting at the Secretariat through video link here on Tuesday, Shahbaz said he was grieved over the death of two lawyers due to clash between lawyers and police in Daska. He said the Punjab government shared the grief of the bereaved families.
“The SHO responsible for firing has been arrested and a case registered against him. Instructions have also been issued to submit the challan of the case to the court as per law at the earliest. All demands of justice will be fulfilled in this incident,” he said.
During the meeting a report was presented to him about the Daska incident. The meeting reviewed the situation arising out of the tragic incident.
Provincial ministers Shuja Khanzada, Rana Mashhood, Khalil Tahir Sindhu and MPAs Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, Rana Sanaullah, Zaeem Qadri, the chief secretary and the IGP were also present.
