MUZAFFARABAD: The federal government has assured Azad Kashmir (AJK) that it will meet its fiscal needs for the development budget during the next financial year.

This was claimed by the AJK government in a handout here on Tuesday.

The handout was issued in the wake of AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed’s meeting with Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad.

The AJK prime minister told the minister that to carry on work on a fast pace, increase in volume of budget to Rs25 billion was inevitable.

During the meeting, Mr Majeed also brought a host of issues to the notice of the federal minister who agreed to the development-related demands of the AJK government.
