KOHAT: Two sisters and their niece died when roof of their house collapsed in Garhi Behram Khan here on Sunday.

Police and local people said that the roof of a room in a mud house of one Tariq Khan caved in when his daughters were sleeping. Local volunteers pulled out Huma Bibi, 18, Gula Bibi, 20, and their seven-year-old niece Noori Akhtar, but it was too late. The bodies were taken to the Women and Children Hospital and after autopsy handed over to the relatives.

In a statement, deputy commissioner Kamran Afridi expressed his sorrow over the incident and said that the bereaved family would get the financial help allocated for victims of such incidents by the provincial government.

Meanwhile, an unknown boy was found dead in Mohammadzai village. A police spokesman said that the cantonment police was informed about the body of the boy. He said that according to the autopsy report the boy had been hit in the head with a firearm.

In another such case, the police found an unconscious aged man near the Bannu Gate and took him to KDA hospital where he died his natural death. Both the unknown bodies were buried in the graveyard of tehsil municipal administration.

KILLED: A young man died on road while he was doing a wheelie on his motorcycle and hit a trailer near Orakzai Chowk on the Indus Highway.

Jarma police said that residents of Dhok Khushalgarh were displaying tricks when Waseem Abbas lost control of his motorcycle and hit a trailer. He died on the spot. The Jarma police have registered the case.

Meanwhile, deputy commissioner, Kohat, Kamran Afridi has cancelled leaves of employees of all the government departments for deputing them for security and other duties at the polling stations on May 30.

The employees of excise and taxation, forest department and lady health workers would be doing such duties at the polling stations for the first time. He has also imposed Section 144 in the district banning display of weapons and pillion riding on the polling day.
