QUETTA: Workers and supporters of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) held a demonstration here on Saturday in protest against the alleged extra-judicial killing of 20 people during a recent operation in Kalat.

The protesters raised slogans against the government and vowed to continue their struggle against what they called the state oppression.

Addressing the protesters, BNP-M leaders accused security forces of killing innocent people during the operation.

Among those who spoke were Akhtar Hussain Lango, Ghulam Nabi Marri, Saniya Hasan Keshani, Bibi Fauzyia Baloch and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan activist Shamsul Hassan Mandokhel.

They accused security forces of taking into custody several innocent people in Ispeliji, Juhan and Sheshar areas of Awaran, Mastung and Kalat districts and claimed that 20 of them had been killed.

The BNP leaders said there was no truth in the claim of security forces that these 20 people were killed in encounters.
