KARACHI: Newly married Sarfraz Ahmed eyes victory for Pakistan in the series against Zimbabwe.

“Though this is a short tour by Zimbabwe, it is a big breakthrough for Pakistan that international cricket is returning here after six years,” Sarfraz told APP after his wedding with Khushbakht Aftab on Tuesday.

“I want to celebrate this occasion [of international cricket’s return] in a big way and want to bring glory and honour for the country,” he added.

“I am eagerly looking forward to fully entertain cricket- starved public,” the wicket-keeper said.

He complimented the Pakistan Cricket Board for convincing Zimbabwe for a visit.

This will be Sarfraz’s second international appearance on home soil after featuring in the 2008 Asia Cup.

He said he was fully geared-up and focusing on producing his best despite hectic marriage activities.

The wicket-keeper praised the spirit of Elton Chigumbura’s side and their officials for touring Pakistan and sending a positive message to cricketers around the world.

“Everyone is happy that Zimbabwe cricketers have opened the doors of international cricket in Pakistan,” he said.

Sarfraz is going to join the team in Lahore and will be returning to Karachi to attend his valima reception on Monday.
