Musharraf gets permanent exemption from court appearance in Bugti murder case

QUETTA: An anti-terrorism court here on Wednesday granted permanent exemption to former president Pervez Musharraf from appearance in the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case.

Judge Aftab Ahmed Lone announced the decision after accepting a request by Mr Musharraf, the prime accused in the case. Mr Musharraf had sought exemption from appearance in hearing of the case.

The court granted exemption to another accused Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao from Wednesday’s appearance in the hearing.

Former home minister of Balochistan Mir Shoaib Nausherwani was present in the court.

Complainant Jamil Bugti has nominated Mr Musharraf and others in the FIR lodged with the Dera Bugti police station for the murder of Akbar Bugti.

The hearing was adjourned till June 1.
