LAHORE: A thundershower in the evening brought mercury down in the Punjab metropolis on Monday.

The meteorological department has forecast partly cloudy to cloudy weather with chances of rain-thundershower with gusty winds in Lahore during the next 24 hours.

It recorded maximum temperatures at 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum 26.

The Met office says a westerly weather system is affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 to 36 hours.

It says rain-thunderstorm associated with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Islamabad-Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore and Sahiwal divisions in Punjab besides Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan while at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and D.I Khan divisions.
