KARACHI: Unknown pedigree bay filly Zeenat obliged all and sundry while making it two victories on the trot as a quartet of favourites swept the card in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Making her first appearance for new owner M. Iqbal, Zeenat justified her credentials by overcoming colt Risky Business by three-quarter-of-a-length to land the opener run over four-and-a-furlongs.

Zeenat has won her last race for Pir Pagara on April 26 with Zaki Zakir astride who repeated his winning feat again on Sunday. Filly Urban Lady was pushed to third place after beaten by short head while filly Nany completed the frame finishing two lengths behind.

Seven-year-old bay mare Capri was withdrawn before the race, leaving seven contestants in the fray.

After remaining winless in last 10 outings, colt Sher Dil finally managed to end the drought by galloping to six lengths victory over filly Fly Free in the next race to post his first win of the year.

Filly Khazana occupied the third slot five-and-a-half lengths behind while mare Sugar Sweet was placed fourth finishing a further five-and-a-half lengths away.

Three-year-old bay colt Revolutionary kept his winning run intact by virtue of defeating bay horse Aslan by six lengths and-a-half to pick up spoils in the third race.

Filly Wait A Second and mare Meri Sahiba followed the two on board among six starters.

Rider Asad Aksir piloted four-year-old dark bay colt Tejori home by two lengths and-a-half to claim honours in the fourth and the last race. The victorious horse got the better of Lava Man among four contestants following the withdrawal of National Queen.

Snow Fairy had to be content with third place three-and-a-half lengths away with Blue Eyes completing the frame five lengths further behind.
