KARACHI: The Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) announced on Tuesday that as per information received from MOL, the operator of Tal block, “hydrocarbons had been encountered at the development well Maramzai-03.”

The company said in a filing with the bourses: “Before conducting any acid job, the well has flowed 19.84mmscfd of gas and 852 barrels of condensate per day at the flowing well head pressure of 3,672 psi at 32/64” fixed choke size.”

Acid job was also planned at that well to increase the production rates, the company said and added that the production rates after acid job may differ from rates mentioned above.

POL observed that the production from the well was expected to start during the third quarter of the year 2015.

The pre-commerciality working interest of POL was 25pc in the block.
