BADIN: Supporters of disowned Pakistan Peoples Party leader and former home minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza on Thursday held a big demonstration in Badin city in yet another show of strength to condemn his alleged victimisation by the party high command, district administration and bureaucracy.

Large groups of people travelled to Badin from all parts of the district to join in the demonstration and expressed solidarity with Dr Mirza, who accuses PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari of patronising corrupt elements, supporting those involved in terrorist activities and dragging the party away from the mission of its founding chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his successor Benazir Bhutto.

Speaking to the audience at Qazia Wah bridge, Advocate Essa Mallah, Dilber Sindhi, Sikender Ali Memon, Dr Abdullah Talpur, Peroze Shahani and others said people of Badin district stood behind Dr Mirza in his struggle to cleanse the party of corrupt and opportunist elements. They condemned the alleged threats to Dr Mirza and his family and warned of serious consequences if any harm came to any of them.
