ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has invited leaders of parliamentary political parties to a briefing on the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (PCEC) project to be held at the PM House on May 13.
A statement issued by the finance ministry on Thursday said the briefing would be aimed at removing any misunderstanding over the PCEC route and the economic zones to be set up under the project.

At a dinner hosted by PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari last week, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had announced that a briefing on the matter would be organised soon for leaders of the parliamentary parties.

According to the statement, Mr Dar has already contacted leaders of the PPP, PTI, MQM and ANP by phone and, on behalf of the prime minister, invited them to attend the briefing.
APP adds: The prime minister, meanwhile, announced setting up of a special unit for effective implementation of the projects along the corridor.
