KARAK: Police registered FIRs against four private schools and a commercial bank for not following the directions of government regarding security measures of the institutions.

Police authorities resolved to take action against those institutions, hotels and rented buildings that were not following the security guidelines of the government.

Police sources said that FIRs were registered against Paradise Public School principal Shah Jehan, Al-Huda Public School principal Mohammad Riaz in Karak police station while cases against Khushal Public School principal Gul Sahib Khan and Sublime Public School principal Nawab Deen were registered in Sabirabad police station.

Police also registered an FIR against the manager of Habib Bank of Palso Sar branch in Sabirabad police station for not taking proper security measures. The district police officer has resolved to take action against all those, who were not observing the security measures.

WATER SCHEMES: A report, prepared by special task force of public health engineering department, on launching new water supply projects and construction of dams could not be implemented in two years.

Sources said that soon after the formation of PTI government in the province, the lawmakers of the ruling party including MNA Nasir Khan Khattak and MPAs Malik Qasim Khan, Gul Sahib Khan and Deena Naz demanded of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to resolve the issue of shortage of drinking water in the district.

The provincial government formed a special task force comprising senior officers and experts of public health engineering department to conduct survey of the district in July 2013.

The task force in its report suggested that work should be started on 10 new water projects and seven dams in the district on emergency basis.

The construction of dams would increase the underground water table in the district.

However, the suggestions of the task force have not been implemented till now. The residents of the district demanded of the government to approve funds for the projects, suggested by the experts of the task force, to resolve the problem of shortage of drinking water in the district.
