School vans

Published April 30, 2015

ENSURING the safety of students should not only be confined to classrooms, but to their vans as well. I was on my way home from university recently when I saw a school van with little children left unattended outside school.

The van was overcrowded by children under the ages of 10, most of them quarrelling, laughing and having fun. These children are too young to be left alone without an adult.

Proper conductors should be appointed to guard children, as well as to assist them in crossing the road etc. City conditions are not safe and there have been countless threats to schools.

Therefore, schools should not only invest in the security of the building, but also in the transportation they provide to the students.
