SUKKUR: Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party (STP) chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has accused Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari of conspiring against Sindh by pursuing an agenda of dividing the province.

Speaking at a public meeting held in Jacobabad to observe the second death anniversary of STP district president Ali Mohammed Lashari on Monday, Dr Magsi claimed that over 200,000 acres had been given away to builders to develop settlements for outsiders.

He termed the move a conspiracy to convert Sindhis to a minority within their province.

He said that Sindhis were deprived of basic amenities and health and education facilities while the people of Tharparkar were starving to death but people in the provincial government were indifferent to the situation and living a luxurious life with the public money.

He reiterated the STP’s resolve to rid the province of the feudal system, injustices and corruption, saying that the party would build a “new Sindh” according to the aspirations of its people.

Abdul Fatah Samejo, Habib Memon, Gilzar Ahmed Soomro, Khair Mohammed Magsi, Jamila Soomro, Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Mir Haroonur Rasheed and other STP leaders also spoke. PPP-Shaheed Bhutto activists Nadeem Ahmed Qureshi, Dil Murad Dahani and Abdul Razzak Lashari also attended the meeting and criticised Mr Zardari for denying official sugar cane rate to growers.
