HYDERABAD: Activists of different NGOs and the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) held separate candlelit vigils outside the local press club on Monday to pay tribute to rights campaigner Sabeen Mahmud.

Human Rights Commission of Pakistan activist Dr Ashuthama along with others led the vigil to reiterate their resolve that those behind the murder of Sabeen would be exposed one day.

Present on the occasion were Punhal Sario, Manzoor Sheikh, Akash Mallah, Veerji Kohli, Lala Abdul Haleem and others.

They said the name of Sabeen had itself become a symbol of struggle. T2F was a platform that was people and knowledge friendly and it was working without any discrimination of caste, creed and colour or language, they said, adding that the forum was working only for human rights and her mission would continue.

Zulfikar Halepoto — who has recently joined the PTI — organised a vigil separately under the aegis of PTI Sindhi Media Monitoring Office.
