ISLAMABAD: The district and sessions court of Rawalpindi directed the Adiala jail administration to ensure anti-allergy treatment to supermodel Ayyan after the model complained that she had developed an allergic reaction in the ‘unhygienic’ barrack she had been lodged in since March.
Ayyan was arrested on March 14 from Benazir Bhutto International Airport for trying to carry $508,000 to Dubai.
The customs authorities produced the model before the district and sessions judge, Bahadur Ali, because of the posting of special judge custom, excise and taxation, Chaudhry Mumtaz Hussain.
As the court resumed proceedings, Sardar Mohammad Ishaq, counsel for the supermodel, argued that since the prosecution could not submitted challan in this matter, the remand of his client could not be extended.
The judge then directed the customs authority to submit the challan.
After a lapse of an hour, the prosecution submitted the interim challan against the accused.
The prosecution alleged that the supermodel in connivance with two accomplices had smuggled huge amount abroad.
The supermodel then complained that she was suffering from allergies due to lack of cleanliness and health facilities in Adiala jail. Though she admitted that the jail authorities were providing her medical facilities, they were not up to the standard.
After giving directions of giving proper medical treatment to Ayyan, the court extended her judicial remand till April 27.
