LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leadership has once again refused to join proceedings of the Joint Investigation Team set up to probe the Model Town killing case, saying the JIT does not enjoy its trust.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, PAT President Raheeq Abbasi and secretary-general Khurram Nawaz Gandapur dared the government to arrest them as they would not appear before the JIT formed without taking their party into confidence.

They said if the government had nothing to do with the Model Town killings why it was not making public a report of the Judicial Commission formed by the chief minister on the incident.

They alleged that Shahbaz Sharif was behind the illegal action against the PAT workers, who were being harassed and booked in “false” cases.
