PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency arrested a female model after a local court rejected her pre-arrest bail on Monday in a case of sharing objectionable pictures of another female on social media and through cellular phone.

The suspect, Ms Neelum Ismail alias Baibu, who is also presenter with a local Pashto television channel, was charged under the Electronic Transaction Ordinance, 2002. She is accused of sharing personal photographs of a female police constable.

Additional district and sessions judge Nusrat Yasmeen also rejected regular bail petition of Neelum’s husband, Mohsin Ali Shah, who is also charged in the same case.

The complainant in the case is one Imran Khan, brother of the said female cop. The court pronounced the order after completion of arguments by both the parties.

The complainant alleged that few days ago the suspected woman and her husband had fraudulently acquired photographs of his sister and then shared it with other persons through social media and cellular phone. The couple is charged under section 36 (violation of privacy of information) and section 37 (unauthorised modification, altering or damaging information) of the Electronic Transaction Ordinance 2002.
