LAHORE: A team of the City District Government of Lahore’s (CDGL) health wing on Monday raided a marriage hall in Samanabad and got its owner arrested for not following anti-dengue regulations.

Action, according to a spokesman, was taken against Dreamland Marriage Hall after the team found dengue larvae there. The team eliminated the larvae besides getting a first information report lodged against the hall owner.

Meanwhile, various price control magistrates of the CDGL on Monday got 39 shopkeepers arrested for overcharging and hoarding in open markets.

They also imposed fines of over Rs137,000 on several others, according to spokesman.

AUCTION: Eleven plots, including 10 commercial, were auctioned by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) for Rs41.57 million here on Monday.

The maximum bid was offered for corner plot No797-H, G-4, Johar Town measuring 38.40 square metres, which was auctioned for Rs6.246 million.

According to an LDA spokesman, 39 bidders deposited earnest money for participating in the open auction held at the LDA Community Centre. Per marla base price of these plots had been estimated by approved evaluators of the State Bank of Pakistan.

REINSTATED: LDA’s Additional Director General (Headquarters) Amina Munir has reinstated Amir Nawaz Cheema, assistant director (general cadre), and posted him in the Directorate of Estate Management (Private Housing Schemes).

Meanwhile, she also ordered postings and transfers of four officers. Arshad Pervaiz, assistant director (general cadre), has been transferred and posted in the Directorate of Administration; Javed Iqbal, assistant director (general cadre), has been transferred and posted in the Directorate of Land Development-III; Shakil Ahmed, private secretary working in Directorate of Law, has been transferred and posted in Directorate of Land Development-IV.

Order for the transfer of Naseer Ahmad, private secretary to the Directorate of Land Development-IV, has been cancelled.
