THIS is apropos difficulties being faced by the people in Karachi during CNG closure for at least three days in a week while public transport is not available. This results in reaching our workplaces late and reprimand by our employers.
A considerable decrease in prices of petrol and diesel has been made by the government. But transporters pay no heed and continue earning huge profits. There are no checks and balances as the local administration is not in a position to maintain law and order in the city.
We do not know the extent to which the people of Karachi are being punished by the transport mafia and local administration. Even the champions of Karachi’s rights now maintain silence, ignoring the problems of the people.
The authorities concerned should resolve these issues as soon as possible.
