LAHORE: Prices of a majority of vegetables and fruits available in Sunday bazaars posted an increase.

A CDGL monitoring team while visiting Johar Town, Model Town, Wahdat Colony and other bazaars noted rise in the prices of 17 of the total 31 vegetables available there. Prices of 13 vegetables decreased as compared to last week.

Five vegetables’ prices remained same, the team observed.

It found an increase in prices of 17 out of 28 fruits available there. The rates of four fruits declined and seven were stable.

Meanwhile, the Lahore DCO also visited Shadman Sunday bazaar and checked prices of commodities, especially cooking oil and ghee.

He said the administration had also set up 20 special counters at various mega departmental stores of the city for the sale of oil and ghee at revised rates.
